World Book Day
New Little Library for Children Opening
Thursday 5th March – 1pm
Near Leaf Yard, West Ham Park
Thanks to a generous grant from Westfield and One Newham we have purchased an extra Little Library Box – and we’ll keep this one just for children’s books! We will officially ‘open’ it during World Book Day (although TBH it will almost certainly be in place before then)
Friday 6th, Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th March

We are running another of our popular Star Gazing and Bird Watching Weekends this March!
Stargazing – Friday 6th & Saturday 7th March – 7-8pm
We’ll attempt to do some Stargazing on Friday and Saturday evenings – although the event is dependent on the skies being relatively cloudless (we can’t see any stars through the clouds, even with binoculars!)
Meet at South Gate on Portway just before 7pm
The event will last approximately an hour
NOTE 1: The park is closed at the time in March, so we will wait till just after 7pm before locking the gate and heading into the park so don’t be late!
NOTE 2: Keep an eye on our social pages – we will post by 4.30pm if we have to cancel due to the weather. Fingers crossed for clear skies at least one of these evenings!
Bird Watching – Sunday 8th March – 10am
Sunday morning (8th March) we’ll meet outside the Community Vegetable Garden (behind the Playground) at 10am and spend about 90mins Bird Watching
We’ll spend some time in the Vegetable Garden but then head off into the park to see what birds we can spot!
If you have binoculars please bring them with you to both these events
