Bat Walk I
Friday 28th August – 8.15-9.30pm
West Ham Park

We have tiny pipistrelle bats in the park – we don’t know whether they actually live in the park but they do feed there, and just after sunset is the best time to see them. So why not come along on one of our popular free Bat Walks and try and see them! Bats are wild creatures so of course we can’t guarantee they will appear.
Everyone welcome – and yes we allow children on our Bat Walks!
Meet by the Parks & Gardens Division Office (opposite the Playground) just before the park closes
PLEASE NOTE
Please arrive promptly to ensure entry as the Park closes at 8.30pm (August), gates start closing 15minutes before the park closes – Main Gate on Upton Lane will be the final gate to close. After gates close there will NOT be an opportunity to exit the Park until the walk finishes. The exit will be onto Portway only.

FWHP Meeting
Thursday 17th September – 7.30-9pm
Online

Want to get involved with the Friends of West Ham Park? Join us on our next Zoom call and help plan our future events!
Everyone welcome!

Bat Walk II
Friday 25th September – 7.15-8.30pm

If you missed our August event (or enjoyed yourself so much), why not come along on our second free Bat Walk? Bats are wild creatures so of course we can’t guarantee they will appear.
Everyone welcome – and yes we allow children on our Bat Walks!
Meet by the Parks & Gardens Division Office (opposite the Playground) just before the park closes
PLEASE NOTE
Please arrive promptly to ensure entry as the Park closes at 7.30pm (September), gates start closing 15minutes before the park closes – Main Gate on Upton Lane will be the final gate to close. Newham’s Biggest Leaf Pile
Sunday 15th November – 1-3pm
West Ham Park

This is our biggest and best – and dirtiest – event of the year!
Come along.
Rake up some leaves and help us make a HUGE leaf pile – the bigger the better! Although this year’s may not be our biggest ever leaf pile!
Then we’ll spend a bit of time relaxing whilst the pile is heaped ever higher by the wonderful West Ham Park parkies and their tractor.
And then WE GET TO JUMP ON THE LEAF PILE AND HAVE LOTS OF FUN!
All ages welcome!

Park in the Dark
Friday 4th December – 5-6.15pm
West Ham Park

Join us on our lantern walk through the park – after dark!
And help us collect food for local Newham Food Banks at the same time!
We meet at South Gate to swap a food item for a glow stick (one per child whilst stocks last) before setting off for a guided walk through the park to the Bandstand.
We’ll be met with festive tunes from the Park Primary Choir, mince pies and warm drinks!
Please bring a torch – why not decorate it at home beforehand?
Everyone welcome so come along!
